South Africa’s newest Classical sensation, Caroline Leisegang has just released her debut album of piano compositions – Oyeblikk.

The coolest new addition to the cultured world of Classical music, Caroline is also one of the countries youngest classical composers ever to release an album penned entirely by ear, raising the bar not only in her home country, but in the rest of the musical world with this world-class release.

As a student of the prestigious Trinity Music College in London, Caroline has worked alongside some of the finest classical and score composers and began writing her album at the age of 23. Obsessed with her Norwegian ancestry, Oyeblikk translates to the English word ‘moments’ and is emblematic of her state of mind when writing pieces in either her London or Johannesburg home.

Inspired at large by her battle with the weather patterns of the cities she lived in, this series of ‘moments’ came into being.

Caroline is now, at 25, back in South Africa and releasing her debut album in her home country. After being signed to Sony digital and reaching Number 1 on the itunes Classical charts, she is ready to launch her record with a performance both by herself and her guest pianist, the exceptionally talented Judith Van Der Wat.

She will be performing at Rabbit In The Moon in Illovo on Sunday the 8th November at 4.30pm.
