It’s no mean feat to convince a top chef to leave his restaurant for four days and set up shop on our rooftop. That said, chefs have always been an integral element of the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair, and we’re proud to have worked with some of the finest in the country over the years.

This year in particular we feel that our line-up of restaurants is truly something to be celebrated. From one of Johannesburg’s top and most awarded fine dining establishments, dw eleven-13, to trendy new dim sum bar, Town, and one of our favourite regulars at the Fair, Mastrantonio, we have an amazing line-up of restaurants for you to choose from this year.

Chef James Diack, who has has not only attended, but also won best restaurant stand at the last two editions of the show, will be showing up in full force, with all three of his restaurants – Coobs, The National, and the soon-to-be-opened The Federal.

We’ll also be bringing the Exclusive Books Social Kitchen and So Yum up to the rooftop, from their regular spots downstairs in Hyde Park Corner. Che Argentine Grill will be adding a Latino flavour to the Fair, while Escondido Tapas will be serving up bite-sized treats all weekend.

Favourites such as Soul Souvlaki, Contessa La Cucina, The Counter, Richard Bosman, Santana, Cajun Joes, Tutto Food Co., Fine Foods from the Kamberg Valley and Mediterranean Delicacies will be completing the savoury experience with everything from wraps to burgers, prawns and platters.
