Painting Maboneng on Youth Day

The Lalela Project is a community initiative, focused on providing art education to youth affected by poverty. Tomorrow, in honour of Youth Day, they will be painting a commemorative mural on the pillars of the M31 Sivewright Bridge. Lalela and partners will be working with young people from Maboneng, Soweto and the city centre to add value to the environment and beauty to the neighbourhood. Artists, creatives and the public are encouraged to join in by giving a moment of their time and painting the city a colour of their choice.

There are still a few items that Lalela needs to make the day a success. If you would like to help out with painting supplies, refreshments or transport, contact them at
