ART GALLERY THEFT

Approximately R600,000 worth of local art was stolen from Daville Baillie Gallery in Norwood, Johannesburg. The gallery said five works were taken, and the robbers were captured on CCTV footage. “Collectively valued at approximately R600,000, all works are of contemporary South African art. From CCTV footage of the robbery, it appears that the thieves targeted specific works” the gallery said. …
